THE NOVELIST

As a writer, I enjoy creating characters for my fictional stories. Each character in the story develops its own personality as I type it into existence and although, in the beginning, they may only be a name to me, by the end of the story they have become an intricate part of the completed work, and by creating them, I have gained new perspectives on Life, for they have become a part of my existence.

If it were possible for these characters to come into being, they would do so only on the page where they first appear. Even though the book was a completed work, they would not know what part they played in the story until they got to the end… unless of course, they skipped a page or two by accident or were granted access by me to read the last chapter.

As a child, I was taught that GOD knew everything… past, present, and future. It didn’t make much sense to me then, because, if that were true, I would not have any choice in determining the outcome of my life. What then would be the purpose of living? However, as someone who has since experienced déjà vu on several occasions and has had prophetic dreams of events that would occur just weeks or months later in my Life, I have had to conclude that the idea of the past, present, and future coexisting in our dimension of time and space is not only possible but probable.

Could it be that we are all just characters in the already completed novel called LIFE, and that as we read our lines from the present page, the accidental turning of more than one page gives us a glimpse of some future event… or perhaps a misplaced bookmark brings us back to a page we have already read?

It is my belief that, long before time began, our characters were created by The Novelist who wrote the Book of Life and for that reason, each and every one of us, who appear in his Novel, occupy a very special place in His Existence.
